Belinda Effah
Belinda Effah
Belinda Effah is a Nollywood Actor from Cross River State. She studied Genetics and Biotechnology. Her journey into acting started in 2005/2006 when she was featured in a TV series called “Shallow Waters”. Subsequently, she took part in “Next Movie star”, a reality TV Show. The following period of two years saw her been featured in a few TV soap opera like “Young Single and Free”, “Fantastic Fanatics”, “Hills and Valleys,” etc. In spite of this, her passion had always been in a Feature length movie. An MNET Short Story "The Room" where I played the supporting role Nkoyo, brought her close to that. But as things would be, for another two good years, she had to take on other jobs for economic reasons.
However, in 2011, the tables turned around for her and she got a lead role playing Simi in a leading TV Series, Tales of Eve. Then came her debut feature length movie “Havillah,”
where she played the lead role, Havillah. The Royal Arts Academy Audition in 2011
for the movie Udeme Mmi, saw her clinching the lead role, a dream come true for the
young budding talent. Belinda subsequently featured in two other Royal Arts Academy Productions, “Kokomma” and “Mrs. Somebody”, which brought her to limelight. With
strong desire for excellence in the movie industry, she enrolled in the noble Royal
Arts Academy to fine-tune her skills as an actor. The Academy indeed helped her in
several ways in the knowledge of interpreting roles as a professional actor, and also to
gain confidence.
After three months of training in the academy, Belinda started getting major and
supporting roles from Royal Arts Academy (RAA) and different production outfits
The following are among the movies she had done: The Room, Havillah, Encore,
Kokomma, Udeme mmi, Mama Africa, Cascade, Okon Goes to School, Refugee,
Mrs. Somebody, The Hunters, Brother’s Keeper, Silent Whispers,
Lonely Hearts, and Tales of Eve.
