CHRISLAND STAFF SENTENCED TO 60 YEARS FOR RAPE

Adegboyega Adenekan, a school supervisor, at Chrisland School has been sentenced to 60 years imprisonment for defiling a 2 year old child.

The case happened 2016 when Adenekan was 47 and a supervisor at the Victoria Garden City (VGC) branch of the school. the school tried to cover up the story but the media never allowed it to happen. He pleaded not guilty to the crime.

The prosecuted had called 7 witnesses including the victim and and mother before closing the case in on the 14th of March 2019.

Sybil Nwaka, who presided over the case said while delivering the sentence that Mr Adgboyega is a “wicked, conscienceless and an animal who is not worthy of walking on the streets of Lagos.

“I hereby sentence Adegboyega Adenekan to 60 years’ imprisonment. This is the sentence of the court,”

The judge also said, “Schools should not cover up teachers who sexually abuse children. Parents should not be carried away by aesthetics of schools. This case may just be the tip of the iceberg as a lot of our children are suffering in silence.

“Parents should be bold enough to confront teachers and school management because a lot of our children are suffering in silence.

“I advise or recommend that the education and social welfare ministry workers should visit schools randomly to give them a check.”
