PM NEWS: Queen of cannabis dealership arrested in Sokoto

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Sokoto State Command, has arrested a woman who had been on the watchlist for 10 years and 18 other drug dealers.

The NDLEA Sokoto Commander, Mr Yakubu Kibo told newsmen on Tuesday in Sokoto that all the suspects were arrested in February.

“We arrested a very notorious cannabis sativa dealer in the state, Madam Queen from Raymond Village.

”Madam Queen has been on our watch list for the past 10 years and on the 28th of February, she was arrested alongside her sales boy.

“This time around, it was not limited to cannabis sativa. She is now a multi-illicit drug dealer. Apart from the cannabis we seized from her, other drugs including pentazocine injection were also found with her,” he said.

He said pentazocine is a dangerous injection which is class ‘A’ in prohibited drugs worldwide.

The commander revealed that another notorious business centre of one Ali Custom was also raided on two occasions at Kofar Marke, Rukubawa area and 97.750kg of illicit drugs were seized.

He said NDLEA had also returned sanity to popular Sokoto Hotel as well as raided a lot of other black spots in the state in February.

He said the command made a total seizure of 141.534kg of illicit drugs during the month.

According to him, the illicit drugs include cannabis sativa 134.128kg and psychotropic substances which includes tramadol diazepam and pentazocine injection.

Young Rapper and Footballer Slums and Dies Playing Football in Ogun State

Stephen Soetan, aka Surplus a fresh graduate of computer science from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, (Mapoly) and an upcoming rapper reportedly slumped and died while playing football.


The incident happened on Thursday evening last week at Oluwo, Abeokuta Ogun state. He was confirmed dead shortly.

Nollywood and multi talented actor, Jude Orhorha clocks 50 years today, the 5th of February 2020. 

Speaking to Emdee David this morning, he said God has been faithful to him and has taken him this far in the film making and entertainment Industry. "As I clock 50 years today I know God has not forgotten about me, He knows how long it’s been, He knows what’s in me,  the gifts, the talents, the dreams, He put them there, Instead of fighting the silence, embrace it."

Jude Orhorha is known for Half of a Yellow Sun (2013), Children's Day (2018) and What Just Happened (2018).

Before these, his roles in TV Series, Checkmate and Fuji House of Commotion, endeared Jude Orhorha to Nigerians.

Jude is also an active member of the Africa Entertainment Network, a networking forum for entertainers and professionals. AEN members are happy with his milestone so far. They wish you double progress in the coming year

LEGIT: TRUE MEANING OF NIGERIAN ARMY SYMBOLS

THE EAGLE:
The eagle represents the graceful power of the Nigerian Army. In various cultures across the globe, the eagle is revered as a towering symbol of grace.

Just like an eagle, the Nigerian Army maintains keen surveillance during times of peace and strikes with brutal precision and eye-popping decisiveness only when it has been provoked beyond tolerance.

THE TWO INTER LACED TRIANGLE-LIKE SIX POINTED STARS:
This is the first symbol of Nigerian unity and it was first struck by Governor-General Lord Lugard in 1914.

The star shows how the northern and southern protectorates were brought together by Sir Lord Lugard.

This was put in place when the Northern and Southern Protectorates were merged to form one nation, which explains the interlacing of the two stars. The Nigerian Army shall maintain the unity of Nigeria.

THE ARABIC SCRIPT:
The transliteration of the Arabic script on the Nigerian Army logo is: Nasrunminallah which means Victory Comes From God Alone.

This particular motto was inscribed on the banner under which the Nigerian indigenous forces battled against the invading colonial forces.

It symbolizes the fact that the Nigerian Army stands to defend the territorial integrity of the country at all times.

The adoption of the Arabic scripted motto was made by the British – before Nigerian Independence.

The original reason for Arabic was that Frederick Lugard (who was the first Commander of the West African Frontier Force (1897 – 99) and later Governor General of Nigeria (1914 – 1919 ); identified Arabic as the only written “indigenous” language anywhere in Nigeria/West Africa, particularly among the widely spread Hausa trader class across the region.

Arabic inscriptions were, therefore, used as symbols, not only for currency but even on official West African Frontier Force badges etc… which persist until today in Nigerian Army badges.

THE RED COLOUR:
This colour depicts the enemy forces, their installations and their activities. Colours used in the Nigerian Armed Forces often follow the NATO military colour code and can stand for the same thing even when used in different places.

The Nigerian Army uses a flag that has three vertical stripes (red, black and red), all of the same width. The flag is flown at the Nigerian Army headquarters.

THE BLACK COLOUR:
In military circles, black is the traditional colour of the cavalry, armoured or mechanized troops.

ISLAMIC TERRORISTS EXECUTE TWO NIGERIAN SOLDIERS, ONE POLICE (VIDEO)

Members of the 123 Special Forces Battalion against Boko Haram

 A video posted on the site of Amaq News Agency (Arabic: وكالة أعماق الإخبارية‎) shows members of an Islamic terrorist group allegedly executing two Nigerian Army officers and a policeman after been abducted at a fake Check points mounted at in Benisheikh, a village seventy kilometers west of Maiduguri. 

Amaq News Agency is a news outlet linked to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. It is often the "first point of publication for claims of responsibility by the group.

Names of the 3 men killed are:

1. Sergent Christopher Omogbai (Nigerian Police, Mopol serving in Yenagoa)

2.  Sergeant Yakubu Bandi (Nigerian Army, 123 Special Forces Battalion)

3. Yusufu Suleiman -  5 Battalion, Port Harcourt

In the video, posted on Sunday 8th of December 2019, the terrorists said they are against all those who are against the worshipers of Allah, and that what they have seen is "small" compared to the terror they will still unleash. They said they will waylay the soldiers on the road, and they will bring havoc/war to their barracks.

The Nigerian Army is yet to respond to the video.

19-years-old Yahoo Boy sets girlfriend Ablaze (VIDEO)

19-years-old Nigeria Man Mr Victor Orji was arrested by the Operatives of Iba Police Station  for allegedly setting his Girlfriend Ablaze because of another lover.
The suspect when asked about his profession, Victor disclosed that he is an internet fraudster (yahoo boy) for the past three years where he gets the proceeds in renting the apartment where he lives with his lover at G54 Army post service Housing Estate Ojo, lagos.
He met with his lover Alabi Tolulope on Feb.28 through a Hookup and she moved in with him by march since then the have been living lovers on the condition that she would quit prostitution and stick to him alone.

However, trouble started on Thursday when the victim left home to fix her hair and did not return until the next day.

She equally left the house on Friday under the guise of visiting her father but ended up seeing another man.

Victor Orji got to know on Saturday when she returned by scrolling through her phone and saw her chats, video calls and pictures of herself naked which she sent to her client.

The suspect became angry and used the petrol he kept for his generator to set her ablaze.

A team of detectives visited the scene and the victim has been taken to General Hospital, Igando where she was admitted but died in the early hours of Sunday.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu has directed the immediate transfer of the case to Criminal Investigation Department Yaba.

The suspect confessed to the commission of the crime and will be charged to Court for murder.

FACEBOOK: A THREAT TO OUR FREE SPEECH! - By Azuka Jebose

Yesterday, Facebook sent me a notification stating that it had covered a “violent” picture shared in 2015. The picture was a bloody body of a dead girl caught in the crossfire during Ipob’s riot at Onitsha. The dead girl’s body was lying in the middle of the street, soaked and drenched in her blood. That happened four years ago…. Facebook decided, four years after my post, that it was too graphic. We live in crazy times…Two days ago, Facebook restored my privileges to be engaged in its social media outlet. I was suspended for 37 days because I posted materials, it claimed, violated “our community posting”.

By the time you begin to read this, an African, perhaps, a Nigerian, would either be facing suspension for a few days or have been permanently banned from his/her Facebook status because it violated “community posting rules”. How many users have really bothered to read that nonsense?. Furthermore, it unilaterally determines who and what to suspend without due process: Facebook is the jury, the prosecutor the judge and the hangman or death-row, aided by its technology that is programmed to flag certain words and sentences, controlled and or monitored by Generation Xers who are impatient or lack understanding of the structure and or context words are applied or amplified in our contents and comments.

 

Facebook has targeted some of Africa’s brilliant and engaging voices and writers on its social media platform, while it allows the most horrific and grotesque expressions of whites and non-Africans to brazenly broadcast across its platform without flagging. Example:
On November 1st, CNN published this story:

“ You can call someone the n-word and give her graphic instructions on how to kill herself, and you won't get kicked off Facebook..
Or you can tell a mother you hope her son gets raped, and you won't get kicked off the world's most popular social media platform. Or you can tell a mother whose 5-year-old daughter has died that "if your kids keep dying its god trying to tell u u don't deserve them."You can write to that mother: "F*k you ct. Are you dead yet ct? Fingers crossed. Spit on cts like you. You ct dog. Die ct. You piece of sh*t ct dog. You are an ignorant dumb dog. Die c*t."Still, you can stay on Facebook…..
“These are the findings of a six-month CNN investigation into bullying and harassment faced by parents, doctors and others who advocate for vaccination on Facebook....”

But if you are African or black, that boldly and bluntly post comments condemning indecent human existence, crime and punishment, Facebook will flag your comments and block you because you violated its” Community Posting Rules”. Meanwhile, as you serve your imposed censorship, Facebook continues to allow your platform or status to broadcast live content, trending information, it continues to post adverts while you are silenced.
Black people are targeted with misinformation and Facebook doesn't suspend those conspiracy right-wing racists with their propaganda lies that are oftentimes laced with violent and vitriolic languages..
Facebook is the greatest threat to free speech in Africa. It is racist and I will continue to call it out…
Facebook wants to regulate our lifestyles, language, culture and our etymology: It wants to tell us how to narrate our stories and what to say. And if we pushed hardest, it suspends our privilege to post but allows our pages to continue to trend because of its profiting from propaganda and advertisements that circle our pages.
Facebook is the greatest threat to Africa’s young democracy: it is a threat to our free speech and our ways of life...Facebook profits from our status’ provocative, engaging and refreshing contents, reward us with censorship while it allows racist conspiracy theories posted by Whites and European indigenes to trend or broadcast, spread hate on its social medium. 




Facebook has weaponized free speech to victimize third world voices and minorities...

We must collectively resist this new draconian censorship by Facebook. This might be my last time posting here. Facebook may ban me. I do not care. I don’t give a damn. Facebook is a terror to our narratives, our stories and our elements and styles. Don’t allow Facebook to tell you how to tell your story and what to write. Resist Facebook. Do not be afraid. You had a life before Facebook. Your life shall continue after it. Don’t be a 21st-century slave and allow Facebook to decide or control your thought process.

BREAKING NEWS: Prof Tam David West dies at 83

Former Minister of Petroleum under General Buhari's military administration, Prof Tam David West has died some hours ago, according sources close to the family.

The source also told The Punch Newspaper that the Prof was not sick the last time she checked on him. 

Prof West, died at the age of 83. He was a virologist and also one time minister of  Steel, Power and Mines under General Ibrahim Babangida, the former head of state who reigned from 1985 to 1993.  

Details of his death are still scanty.

VP OSINBAJO'S AIDES SACKED BY THE SGF

Prof Yemi Osinbajo - Nigeria's Vice President

Reports have it that 35 aides to the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo have allegedly been sacked by the SGF, Boss Mustapha while President Buhari is away in the UK. News has it that effort by the VP to delay this action had proven abortive. 

It is not clear why these aides were sacked but information reaching us suggests the Presidency thinks Osinbajo has more Aides than the President himself and there needed to be a cut down. It is said that the VP had lobbied to delay the sack so he could discuss the matter with the President but the SGF has gone ahead to effect the sack.
 

According to Garba Shehu, Buhari's Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, “The SGF has responsibility for the issuance of letters of appointment, and where the need arises, sack letters as well.”

However, an aide in the  Office of the SGF, Willie Bassey, said he was not aware of the sack: “I am not aware of any letter. I am hearing such thing from you for the first time. I am not aware of it.”

There is no comment yet from the President on this matter.
