WIZKID ARRESTED: E-247 reports

Starboy, Wizkid after several weeks of hide and seek with the Nigerian Police  following reports of a breach of contract, finally showed up. His appearance led to his arrest and subsequently, he was quizzed by the policemen of Zone 2, Lagos to explain why he collected the sum of N500, 000.00 from some students of the University of Lagos to perform at the botched CONCERT of LIFE UNILAG billed for May21, 2013. The aggrieved students, E24-7 reliably gathered subsequently reported the matter at the Police State HQ, Ikeja where the 23year old singer was invited to come and clear himself of the allegation. His claim for his absence was an international engagement.
Apparently miffed by his attitude, the students took the case to the office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone2, Lagos where he was summoned to report on Friday, June 14, 2013. The invitation letter was received on his behalf by his dad, Alhaji Balogun at his Shitta, Surulere, Lagos residence.   Again, his failure to show up angered the police officers who did not entertain the lawyer he sent to represent him claiming his absence was due to the auto accident he had recently.
Today, Wednesday, 19 June, 2013, when he showed up, he came in the company of his manager, Godwin Tom and his lawyer.  In his statement, he claimed that he has never met the students who alleged  that he received the sum of N500, 000.00 from them and never showed up for performance. He was later detained alongside his manager briefly before his lawyer took steps to bail both of them.
E24-7 MAGAZINE’s checks revealed that  one or two among the  group of students were childhood friends of Wizkid and he simply offered to do the concert for them at the ridiculously discounted fee, which prompted them to have spent money on publicity on and off campus and  all media platforms.
Reliable sources informed E24-7MAGAZINE that some of the students and Wizkid actually attended ijebu Ode Grammar School, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State together and he actually gave his ECOBANK account details where the said amount was paid April 29, 2013. There is also proof of sms conversations to ratify their claims.
Pending the outcome of further investigations, the Police authorities have fixed another date for the two parties to report.
