DIMGBA IGWE: JOGGING UNTO DEATH

Dimgba Igwe
Ace journalist, Dimgba Igwe died early this morning after been hit by a car while jogging near his house at Okota area of Lagos. He was the Vice Chairman of The Sun Newspaper and also the Assistant General Overseer of Evangel Pentecostal Church, Okota.

Life is a race. And to keep up, one needs endurance and stamina, both of which are achieved through exercise.  Dimgba was keeping up with life's necessity of keeping fit for life's race. He was jogging. But a car on its own mad race, hit him and raced off, leaving Dimgba jogging unto eternity. He was rushed to the hospital but pronounced DOA. The driver of that hit-and-run car might not have known who he has denied the media world of its invaluable importance.

As we mourn this noble, god-fearing man, a key pioneer of Weekend Concord, The Sun, and Entertainment Express, We pray for God's grace for the friends and family, the professional colleagues, church members, and all his admirers. We  also call on the State and Federal Government to step up security monitoring in all our cities. This is in the light of the fact that the rate of hit-and-run death cases is increasing by the day, and it may not be likely that some are deliberately carried out, either as murder, or for ritual purposes. A working security cameras could have picked up the killer. Prompt police response could have chased.

May the soul or our senior colleague, Dimgba Igwe, rest in perfect peace. Amen.
