“This is for those people who normally put their phone on DND. DND took the love of my life yesterday.

My dad has been sick, so I normally go to visit, take care of him, and give him medications.

I was at home yesterday because I haven't been to work for over 2weeks. The Federal Government hasn't paid us, so we decided to stay back.

 

As of yesterday, his breathing was b@d. He wasn't talking; he was totally down. Since the nanny normally takes care of him, I told them what to give him.

But his situation got w0rse and they rushed him to the hospital. When they got there, my sibling called me, but my phone was on DND and didn't ring.

They refused to attend to Dad because there were many patients, and doctors were not on the ground because we hadn't been paid; most of them were at home.

They kept calling me to come over. I was asleep. My alarm woke me up. That was how I saw countless missed calls and messages from my siblings. 

 

When I got there, I found my father lifeless on the ground.

 

Please, if your phone is always on DND, please remove it. DND has ruined my life.”

"When President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua departed the shores of Nigeria for medical treatment in Saudi Arabia on November 23, 2009, I served as Chairman of the Editorial Board of the National Life newspaper. The publication was owned by then Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, national leader of the opposition Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and today the President of Nigeria. Official releases claimed Yar’Adua suffered from acute pericarditis, compounded by a chronic renal condition. What was framed as a brief consultation stretched into an agonizing, month-long absence. In February 2010, Yar’Adua was clandestinely smuggled back at nocturne, shielded from the citizens he was elected to govern. Barely three months later, on May 5, 2010, his passage came like a rude awakening. He was said to have caved in to the Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma disease. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo later vehemently denied deliberately imposing a terminally ill candidate. 

 

Yet, he conceded a critical truth: he was fully aware of Yar’Adua’s severe health challenges prior to handpicking him. Yar’Adua’s declining health was never a state secret. During the presidential campaign in early March 2007, his health failed dramatically, necessitating an emergency evacuation to Germany.

 I am deeply saddened by the tragic crash of the Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft near Igbokoda in Ondo State, carrying 25 passengers and seven crew members, who are now presumably killed.
My heart goes out to the families and loved ones of everyone aboard this aircraft, and to the officers and personnel of the @NigeriaAirforce affected by this terrible tragedy.

Beyond the tragedy itself, however, I am deeply concerned by what we have seen from the crash site. The videos and images emerging from the area raise serious questions about Nigeria’s emergency preparedness and our capacity to respond rapidly and effectively to major disasters.

At a moment when every second matters, a country of more than 200 million people should have properly equipped, highly trained and rapidly deployable emergency-response teams capable of reaching difficult terrain with the equipment required for search, rescue and recovery.

There must be a thorough and transparent investigation into what caused this crash. But we must also investigate the emergency response, viz. how quickly help arrived, what equipment was available, what obstacles responders encountered, and whether lives could have been saved with a better-prepared system.
A disaster is tragic. Being unprepared to respond to one makes the tragedy even more painful.

My thoughts remain with everyone aboard the aircraft, their families, and the communities affected by this devastating incident.

Joint Army, DSS, Amotekun Operation Kills ISWAP Leader in Ondo

 

An intelligence-led operation by a combined team of the Nigerian Army, Department of State Services (DSS) and Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed Amotekun, has killed a senior leader of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), Abdussamad Ohida, in Owo Forest, Ondo State.

 Ohida, also known as Anwar, was reportedly killed alongside several other members of the terrorist group during a surprise operation on their hideout at the weekend.
 Security sources said Ohida was planning attacks in some southern states ahead of the Yuletide season.

The sources said Ohida previously served as deputy to the ISWAP Central Nigeria leader, Abu Ikrimah, also known as Abu Uwais, who the DSS arrested in 2023.
Following Ikrimah’s arrest, Ohida reportedly assumed leadership of ISWAP activities across parts of the North-Central and southern regions, where he was involved in the planning and coordination of terrorist operations.
The sources said intelligence obtained from the interrogation of Abu Uwais helped the DSS uncover plans by Ohida to attack civilians during the forthcoming festive period and disrupt the 2027 general elections.

One source said intelligence partners in the United Kingdom also corroborated it and supported the operation that led to Ohida’s elimination.
The source attributed several attacks to Ohida, including the December 31, 2025, invasion of Ipele Divisional Police Station in Owo, Ondo State, where eight AK-47 rifles were reportedly carted away before the station was destroyed with explosives.

He also linked Ohida to the July 28, 2022, attack on a military checkpoint along the Suleja-Zuba Road in Niger State, which reportedly killed several soldiers, security personnel and civilians.

Other attacks attributed to him include the July 11, 2022, attack on the Kuje Correctional Center in Abuja; the April 23, 2022, attack on Ogaminana Police Station in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, which killed five police officers; and the February 7, 2022, attack on the Okene Area Command police station.

The source further alleged that Ohida planned and executed the December 24, 2020, attack on a naval checkpoint in Okene, Kogi State, which resulted in the deaths of two naval officers.
The source described Ohida’s elimination as a major setback for ISWAP’s operations in central and southern Nigeria.

He said, “We may not immediately realize it, but the elimination of Abdussamad Ohida represents a significant disruption to ISWAP’s leadership structure, operational network and expansion efforts in central and southern Nigeria.

“Ohida’s elimination, coming a few months after the killing of ISIS leader Abu Bilal al-Minuki, is a very big blow to ISWAP’s efforts to expand its operational presence in Nigeria and underscores the growing efficiency of our security services.”

Twin Sisters In Medical Profession Die Two Days Apart

 

A set of twin sisters, both medical professionals, have died two days apart, leaving their family, colleagues and associates mourning the tragic loss.

The deceased were identified as Dr Hadiya Usman, popularly known as Hassana, a medical doctor, and her twin sister, Dr Aidah Usman, known as Usaina, a Doctor of Pharmacy.

 

Hadiya reportedly died on Friday, while Aidah died on Sunday, two days after the death of her twin sister.

The sisters were the twin daughters of Dr Hadiza Usman, a former Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, Nguru, Yobe State.

Their deaths have triggered an outpouring of condolences from relatives, friends, colleagues and associates, who described the loss as a painful blow to the family and the medical community.

However, the circumstances surrounding the deaths were not immediately disclosed as of the time of filing this report.

Mourners have continued to offer prayers for the repose of the souls of the deceased and strength for the family to bear the loss.

 

32 People Onboard Military Aircraft That Crashed in Igbokoda Ondo State - Festus Keyamo

A total of 32 people were on board the military aircraft that crashed in Igbokoda, Ondo State, on Monday.

Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, disclosed the development in a statement on Monday. 

According to him, Air Traffic Controllers had earlier reported the disappearance of the military aircraft, with tail number NGR 931, while it was en route from Benin to Lagos.

 

According to him, the aircraft disappeared from radar at about 9:13am after efforts to establish radio communication with the crew proved unsuccessful.

Keyamo's statement reads, “I regret to inform the general public that Air Traffic Controllers have informed me of the disappearance of a military aircraft with tail number NGR 931, en route to Lagos from Benin at 0913 hours earlier today. All efforts to contact the aircraft by radio proved unsuccessful. 

 

LEADERSHIP newspaper had earlier reported that a military aircraft with 32 people on board has crashed near the Naval Base in Igbokoda, Ondo State, after disappearing from radar while en route from Benin to Lagos on Monday, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has confirmed.

The aircraft, with tail number NGR 931, was reported missing at about 9:13 a.m. after Air Traffic Controllers lost contact with it and efforts to re-establish radio communication proved unsuccessful.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, in a statement on Monday, said the wreckage of the aircraft had been located close to the naval facility.

THE STRENGTH OF WOMEN TO MOBILISE AND POSITIONS GOVERNANCE TO THE NATION

 WHEN WOMEN MOBILISE, NATIONS TAKE NOTICE

 

Across the world, political history teaches us a vital lesson: when women organise and take ownership of a cause, their impact can extend far beyond the ballot box.

From Britain’s Women2Win and Labour Women’s Network to grassroots political movements in the United States, India and Africa, organised women have consistently built networks, mentored leaders, mobilised communities and contributed to political and national development.

History offers powerful examples. In Ghana, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings used the 31st December Women’s Movement to organise and empower women at grassroots level and was part of the team that helped build the National Democratic Congress, mobilising grassroots support ahead of its 1992 electoral victory. In Europe, Angela Merkel led Germany’s CDU/CSU to its strongest federal election result since 1990 in 2013. In the United States, Stacey Abrams helped build voter-registration and grassroots networks that were widely credited with contributing to Democratic victories in Georgia in 2020. And in India, Mamata Banerjee and her Trinamool Congress made women’s mobilisation a significant part of their successful 2021 West Bengal campaign.

The lesson is simple: mobilisation is leadership. It requires energy, resilience, organisation and the ability to connect high-level policy with ordinary people.

This brings us to Dr Betta Edu.

Emerging at just 35 as the youngest National Women Leader of the APC, and securing more than 2,600 votes at the party’s 2022 national convention, she demonstrated considerable experience in women’s organisation and grassroots mobilisation.

Regardless of political affiliation, that experience matters.

And today, that experience is once again being put to work.

As Director of Women Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Edu has pledged to lead grassroots mobilisation across the South-East ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking in Owerri, Imo State, during the September flag-off of the distribution of empowerment items to women across the South-East, she said that once the campaign is fully activated, she would return to take the message directly to women — door-to-door, household-to-household, market-to-market and community-to-community.

That is precisely the kind of grassroots engagement political mobilisation requires.

Public figures can encounter difficult chapters in their careers, but those chapters should not automatically erase every capability, experience or contribution they have demonstrated. Assessment requires fairness, accountability and perspective.

Women should not have to be perfect before they are allowed to lead. They must be accountable, certainly, but they should also be allowed to learn, rebuild and contribute.

As Nigeria approaches another major political cycle, women will be key communicators, organisers, candidates, strategists and community mobilisers.

The conversation surrounding figures such as Dr Betta Edu, therefore, is also about whether Nigeria is prepared to recognise, develop and utilise the proven mobilisation capacity of its women.

As a woman, entrepreneur, former diplomat and advocate for women’s development, I believe strongly that we need more women prepared to enter the arena, build bridges and create opportunities for the next generation.

When women lead, younger women see possibilities.

When experienced women mobilise, communities become more engaged.

And when a nation gives capable women room to rise, learn and contribute, the nation expands its pool of leadership.

Names of 37 Illegal Miners Who Died In NSCDC Custody in Niger State

The International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) has released the names of 37 suspected illegal miners who died in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Niger State. NigerianTravel Guides

The victims were among some of the suspects arrested during operations conducted on September 15 and 16 around the Lt. Gen. Mohammed Inuwa Wushishi Estate in Minna, the state capital.

NETBALL: THE JOURNEY BEHIND NIGERIA’S GREEN HAWKS HISTORIC DEBUT IN KENYA - AFRICAN CHAMPIONSHIP

Nigeria’s Green Hawks have now stepped onto the international netball stage, but the significance of the team goes far beyond the 61–40 opening-match defeat to Kenya in Nairobi.

Behind the team is a remarkable story of diaspora initiative, persistence, collaboration and, ultimately, government recognition.

The journey began in the United Kingdom, where broadcaster Trish Adudu and coach Alison Akinrinlola had been working around a national initiative to identify Nigerian talent and explore how talented players in Britain could represent Nigeria.

There had been previous attempts to make this happen without success.

It was against this background that Trish contacted Mentoring Cmdt Ambassador Alistair, with whom she had worked previously, to explore whether there was a pathway to finally connect the players with Nigeria.

Alistair took the initiative forward, approaching the Director-General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade, and subsequently travelling to Nigeria to pursue the matter directly and meet with the relevant executives.

That engagement became an important turning point.

The National Sports Commission moved quickly. The Nigeria Netball Federation was formally inaugurated in May 2026, with Dr Esther Aluko becoming its President. The Commission publicly acknowledged the importance of diaspora players and the work being undertaken to bring Nigerian netballers abroad into the national fold.

The process then accelerated.

Through the Nigeria Diaspora Talents Development Committee, led by Dr Tunde Adelakun, trials, player identification and development activities were organised within weeks. The initiative was specifically designed to identify Nigerians of sporting ability in the diaspora and create a pathway for them to represent the country.

Coach Alison Akinrinlola, working with other experienced figures including former Jamaica coach Connie Francis, Dr Yinka Idowu and Trish Adudu, helped bring together talented Nigerian players across the UK and develop them into a team.

By June, Nigeria had assembled what would become the Green Hawks.

Just three months later, that newly assembled side was in Nairobi competing against established African netball nations.

That speed of development is remarkable. Blueprint reported that Nigeria had never previously fielded a national netball team and that the national federation was established earlier in 2026, with the national team assembled in June.

And so, when the Green Hawks walked onto the court against Kenya, they were carrying more than a Nigerian flag.

They were carrying the efforts of players who answered the call, coaches who believed in their potential, diaspora advocates who refused to let the opportunity disappear, administrators who organised the pathway, and public officials who gave the project institutional backing.

Mentoring Cmdt Ambassador Alistair’s role belongs in that history. His intervention helped connect the UK initiative with the National Sports Commission at a critical stage, opening the conversation that helped move the project from another attempted diaspora sporting initiative towards an officially recognised national programme. This role has also been reported publicly in connection with the formation of the Green Hawks.

Dr Esther Aluko then became the federation’s first President, Dr Tunde Adelakun and the Diaspora Talents Development Committee helped drive the talent-development and trial process, while Alison Akinrinlola and her technical team developed the players.

And Hon. Bukola Olopade, alongside the leadership of the National Sports Commission, provided the institutional platform on which the project could finally take root. The NSC has publicly stated its intention to use diaspora talent as part of Nigeria’s sporting development with the huge support of Mallam Shehu Dikko, the Chairman of the National Sports Commission.

The Director General of the National said the is extremely delighted to be at this tournament and are thankful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the NSC.

‘It was something I really wanted to do. To give our girls another option and another pathway to progress and success in sport. All the nations in Africa are embracing netball. And we have the ability, the passion and the girls who can stand up and do it. I received assurances and that was how we started’ Olopade stated.

The Green Hawks, composed mainly of players from diaspora Nigeria, in fact all from England, is led by Head Coach Alison Akinrinlola, a former England international netball player herself who also heads a netball franchise in the UK that secures pathway to the English Netball Super League. "I see many girls every week and every now and again, a Nigerian name pops up and I’m thinking “this is a good talent”. To now be presented with a chance to give opportunity to these talented girls to express themselves on the international scene is such a privilege, something we are all excited about and it goes beyond just qualifying for the World Cup. It is more for creating a solid base for the first national team of Nigeria to inspire even more girls in Nigeria to take up the sport and make the country a force to reckon with in the shortest possible time’.

The result is the Green Hawks.

The first match may have ended 61–40 to Kenya, (the Green Hawks actually won one part 12-10) but the larger Nigerian netball story is only beginning.

From a conversation in the UK, to a diaspora initiative, to engagement with Nigeria’s sports leadership, to the creation of a federation, trials, training and finally an international debut — Nigeria has moved from discussing national netball to actually playing it on the African stage.

For the future, that origin story matters.

Because when the Green Hawks eventually inspire young girls in Nigeria to pick up a netball and dream of wearing the green and white, they should know that their national journey was built through the combined efforts of people in Nigeria and the diaspora who chose to make something happen.

The Green Hawks have arrived. The journey continues.

TOYIN ABRAHAM TO LIZZY ANJORIN – ‘STOP CURSING MY SON AND HUSBAND’

 Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Toyin Abraham has with a sad and teary eye cleared the air on her sour relationship with a colleague, Lizzy Anjorin, requesting that the actress desists from cursing her husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi and son, Ire.

The misconception between the actresses started in 2019 when Anjorin was stopped and searched for drug peddling during her hajj trip to Saudi Arabia which was allegedly leaked by Toyin Abraham to Instagram blogs.

Anjorin claims that after her investigations, she found out that Toyin was responsible for the story been made public as she reigned curses on her husband and kid in a recent interview with a social media influencer, Esabod.

Toyin Abraham, in reaction to the allegations, in an Instagram Live session with fellow popular actress, Iyabo Ojo stressed that she was not responsible for the reports to the Law Enforcement Agents, as according to her, the duo has never crossed paths.

Holding a Bible to prove her innocence, she said, “Since I gave birth to my child, you have been bullying him. Let the whole mothers in this world come out and blame me for this single thing that I stood up for my son. Let the whole world blame me for this.

“I did not talk or say anything, but for this, I will stand up for my son. When the incident happened with Liz Anjorin, I did not know about it because it was during that time that I put to bed. They did not let me have my phone because I had just delivered my baby.

“It was after about two months that they gave me my phone and I saw all the messages, and hers was part of it. This is the Holy Bible that I am holding; let the Holy Bible judge me.

“It is so funny because Lizzy is not my friend and I do not know her; Saudi or no Saudi, I have never heard of it. How do I know her movement?”

While insisting that she had never spilled the beans of Anjorin to bloggers, she added, “What is my own with Lizzy. I have seen Lizzy just twice in my life. The first time was at Regina Chukwu’s job and the second time was at Wasilat Coded’s premiere. I do not know about her movement and God is my witness. I have only seen her twice.

“I do not know about her movement. I am speaking up now, let the whole world hear. I am speaking up because of my son. The last one they did, I could not talk because I just gave birth; but now, I have to talk and speak up for my son. They cannot lay curses on my son. Besides, if I do not stand up for my son, who will stand up for my son?

“Since the day they have been cursing me and peddling rumours about me, I never said a word; but today, it was too much and I need to stand up for my son. I have never spoken to any blogger and the only one I spoke to was Instablog and we did an advert with them. I have never spoken to a blogger to run anyone down.”

“My husband and I have two houses. We live in our own house and we have another in Ibadan. God has blessed us; I am not beefing anyone and I do not have a problem with anybody. God is my witness. I do not know where all this is coming from. I have never spoken about this but I want every parent on earth to judge this matter. They should ask Lizzy to state what I did; she should talk. If I offended you, call me.

“That woman kept cursing my son and husband. You can curse me but do not curse my son. I have never discussed Lizzy’s matter with anyone; we are not friends. God see me. “Ned Nwoko has consistently used proxies to do his dirty and fraudulent charges, in concert with dubious Nigerian police to lock up innocent men, including my father from Idumuje Ugboko for the murder that never happened or existed. How can one man be murdered so many times by different men and at different locations? Yes, all the charges do not list Ned Nwoko as the complainant. But he responded to my post and called me a liar: that confirmed that he is the sponsor of these frauds, as being insinuated. He is the main financier of the arrests and intimidations of my dad and our people. I am tired of standing by and watch one heartless man destroy our people, continue to use his financial resources to front and fund frivolous murder and terrorism charges against innocent men and the King of my hometown. If my father committed murder and terrorism, why is Ned Nwoko the one funding the ambush arrests and charges? Sometime in 2017, Ned Nwoko instigated a crisis in Idumuje Ugboko Community in Delta State, as a result of the community's firm refusal to give him additional 90 hectares of land, having mismanaged the over hectares earlier giving to him.

In the ensuing crisis, it was alleged that one Cyprian Kumaorun was killed. While this was ongoing, Mr Okey Ifejoku was several kilometres away in Asaba. He was neither present at the scene of the crisis nor participate in any alleged fight. 

However, since then, Ned Nwoko has made it a point of duty to terrorize the community until they fall on their knees and offer him the land on a platter. 

By virtue of Mr. Okey Ifejoku's position as the chairman of the Idumuje Ugboko Development Union, he has borne the greatest oppression from Ned Nwoko. 

Ned Nwoko has unlawfully used the instruments of state, particularly the Nigeria police in Delta State and Abuja, to oppress the helpless members of Idumuje Community.

In 2017, Ned Nwoko prompted the Police in Delta State to file Charge Number: A/240C/2017, at the High Court of Delta State, against Ochei Nnamdi and Ofonye Ufoh, for the alleged murder of Cyprian Kumaorun. This charge was held on merit and the defendants were acquitted.

Not done, Ned Nwoko, once again, prompted the police to file charge no: MI/24C/2020, at the magistrate court of Delta State, Isele-Uku, against his own king (Obi Chukwunonso Nwoko), Mr. Okey Ifejoku and four other innocent members of the community, for the alleged murder of Cyprian Kumaorun. The charge was sent to the DPP of Delta State, who advised that the defendants had no case to answer: On the basis of the DPP's legal advice, the charge was struck out. 

While this was going, Ned Nwoko moved to Abuja and got officers of the FCID Abuja to arrest Mr. Okey Ifejoku and 9 other members of the Idumuje Ugboko community. The 10 defendants were arrested, detained at FCID for up to six months, before they were charged to Court, in two batches, by the office of the A.G of the Federation for alleged terrorism and alleged murder of Cyprian Kumaorun. One wonders how the A.G of the Federation got so interested in a Communal Dispute in Idumuje Ugboko, with all the actual terrorism and banditry going in the North East and North West of Nigeria. Additionally, how could a charge be filed in Abuja when all the ingredients of the alleged offense and all the defendants reside in Delta State?

The first charge: FHC/CR/169/2020 was before Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the FHC and has been transferred to the FHC , Delta State.

The Charge: FH/CR/11/2019 (Mr. *Okey Ifejoku and 7 others) was assigned to Justice Abang of the Federal High Court. As of the time of writing this, 7 of the defendants have been granted bail, while the innocent youth Leader, Raymond Omosiete, has remained unjustly incarcerated, first at FCID Abuja, and later at Nigerian Correctional Service, Suleja, since November 23, 2020. All on Ned Nwoko's prompting.

Mr. Okey Ifejuku spent a cumulative time of about 9 months in both FCID and Nigerian Correctional Centre, Kuje, before he could perfect his very stringent bail conditions.

Seeing that almost all the defendants have been granted bail and that the charge is being exposed for what it is, outright persecution, Ned Nwoko, once again, prompted officers of the same FCID Abuja, to initiate another round of arrest, for the alleged murder of the same Cyprian Kumaorun, for which Mr. Okey Ifejoku had earlier been discharged by the Magistrate Court, upon the DPP's advice, and is in fact, still standing trial at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

On March 25, 2021, as Mr. Okey Ifejoku and his codefendants exited the FHC Abuja, where they had gone to attend their trial, officers of the FCID Abuja, arrested him and his deputy, Mr. Godwin Akaba, kept them at FCID for almost a week, before they were transferred to Delta State Police Command, Asaba, where they are still being detained right now.

Upon inquiries at the FCID, we were informed that they were arrested for the alleged murder of Cyprian Kumaorun. A few weeks later, an additional member of the community was arrested, and the police have vowed to arrest and prosecute the entire community, even though there are several concluded and ongoing cases on this issue. 

As at the time of writing this, Mr. Okey Ifejoku, who has been granted bail by the Federal High Court, is in detention at the Delta State Police Command, Asaba, for an offense he did not commit. The Police have not charged him to court and they have refused to release him.

While all these are ongoing, Ned Nwoko has instigated some members of the community with no trace of royalty to challenge the Obiship of King Chukwunonso Nwoko. As a result of this, the king is yet to be given a staff of office, more than three years after he assumed the stool of his forefathers. 

QUESTIONS FOR NED NWOKO:

1. What does Ned Nwoko want?

2. Why does he insist on Mr. Ifejoku Okey being detained indefinitely for the same offense he had earlier been discharged by the Magistrate Court and is also standing trial at the Federal High court, having been granted bail?

3. Does it not amount to an abuse of court process, cherry-picking and forum shopping, for the state and the police, prompted by Ned Nwoko, to arrest several members of the Idumuju Ugboko community and charged them in several different courts, for the same alleged offence? 

4. What happens if the FHC and the High Court give different judgments on the same issue, same facts and same defendants? 

5. Why does Ned Nwoko insist on the persecution of Mr. Okey Ifejoku even though he is innocent?

6. Can a man be bigger than his community?

MAN TIED AND FLOGGED FOR BEATING A WOMAN IN OGIDI

Two women were fighting in Ogidi, somewhere in the South East. The son of one of the women took over the fight and beat up the other woman mercilessly. 

The village youths ,following tradition, got hold of the young man, tied him to a tree and flogged him severely to avenge for the woman he beat, some say he got 100 strokes of the cane.

BOLAJI AMUSAN, SPEAKS ON TAMPPAN'S POSTION ON BABA IJESHA'S CASE,

Otunba Bolaji Amusan, who is popular as Mr. Latin, the President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPPAN), has spoken on the on going case of rape and child molestation leveled against Mr Lanre Omiyimika, also known as Baba Ijesha. 

In a video posted on his Instagram page, Mr Latin said Baba Ijesha is not a member of TAMPPAN and thus does not have the power to dismiss him from the organization or any association.

However, he said TAMPPAN dissociates itself from the bad behaviour and criminal attitude of the accused. 
 

BREAKING NEWS: GUN MEN KILL KOGI COMMISSIONER, HON. AKEWEJE ON SATURDAY

 Hon. Solomon Akeweje, Kogi State Commissioner for the Pension Board, has been reportedly killed by gunmen on his way from Ilorin. 

DSP William Ayah, PPRO who confirmed the incident, said unknown gunmen on Saturday, 1st of May 2021 opened fire on Mr Akeweje's vehicle, killing him and injuring his driver who is said to be in critical condition. He and other injured people were taken to ECWA Hospital Egbe.

 His bullet-ridden car is seen with blood stains on the seats. The number of other deaths is yet to be confirmed.

It is not clear is the assailants were bandits, rubbers or some kidnappers as investigation is ongoing.

It is a sad day for the people of Yagba West LGA where the Commission came from.
